The natural wood veneer is a industrial process which is being used in the furniture industry. It allows to save resources and to reduce production costs by being much like the visual appearance of a solid wood furniture piece. The existing range of veneers expands the variety of usable wood, from a ordinary type to an exotic one.
The application of veneers on cheap boards grants some important characteristics with a visual result as best as it can: symmetry between leaves and the direction of the wood grain. Then, this causes some waste during this process.
VENEER explores the waste wood veneer in the furniture industry. It has looked for new perspectives this material by reusing them to create new products. The volume of this piece is the result of the addition of several layers of veneers. Into these products, the most common timber appears as relevant as an exotic one, revealing a color variation between them. The result is quite graphic with each layers highlighted according to the own color of veneers.
