TemaHome assumes the creation of a packaging capable of transforming the recovered mould of a common sardine from the Bordallo Pinheiro Ceramics in a new breed and recreation of an icon of our genuine tradition. Although the “Sardinha” only needs a package that avoids breaking this would generate another packaging to throw away.
How could this be avoided? By value added package.
We created a connection between salt and the sardine. Our purpose was to develop a usable piece of salt and connect it to the Sardinha. From the Rio Maior Salt Rock Mines we took the purest and best salt in Portugal. A “bed” of salt was developed based on an ancient technique of salt cheeses, which are a traditional product from Rio Maior. You can scrap the salt with a knife and use it to cook. By joining this pure salt to the Bordallo Pinheiro know how and tradition we believe we created a value added, very special product that you would not miss.
